Stamping-Bending

Stamping is a forming production process which, within a short time, permits the manufacture of large quantities of very precise and complicated work pieces of metal or other materials. Processes that make optimum use of the materials with minimal waste are increasingly significant in global economics.
At Heraeus modern stamping technology finds applications not only with metallic materials such as copper, iron or aluminum but also with non-metallic materials such as polyester, polyamide or epoxy resins. In the case of non-metallic materials, the soft base material and the tendency to adhesion on the tool impose special requirements on the forming process. One differentiates not only in the forming process for such materials but also in tooling-technology and thus the tool material to be used.
Bending is also a forming production process. The material is subjected to a bending moment and a plastic, i.e., permanent deformation is achieved.
Stamping Technology
If both techniques are combined into one process, numerous variations and possibilities of designing and manufacturing a three dimensional stamped grid become possible. When these possibilities are complemented by electroplated or roll clad functional surfaces, which are also produced in house, we at Heraeus can offer you highly integrated products. Modern camera- and testing methods guarantee highest quality requirements during stamping process.
